Local knowledge

Using the CLI or desktop application without an account does not require uploading documents, blocks, labels, comments, search queries, evaluations, or activity history. Local data remains under your control unless you explicitly connect a cloud Space or export it.

Hosted account and collaboration data

When you sign in or join an Organization Space, ObsDog may process your email address, account identifiers, memberships, roles, device and synchronization state, invitations, and the content and metadata you choose to synchronize. Access is limited by the Space and organization authorization model.

Managed synchronization and capacity

Optional hosted synchronization is a managed service, not end-to-end encryption: the server processes synchronized content to authorize, index, measure and deliver your Space. Transport uses HTTPS. Account and Space capacity counters are computed from stored data and synchronization receipts, not from advertising analytics. Local-only knowledge is not uploaded for quota measurement. The free beta does not automatically purge retained history when storage is full.

Measurement and diagnostics

• Public marketing and documentation pages ask for consent before loading GA4 or Sentry. With consent, copying a public installation command records only the chosen Codex, Claude, or CLI path as interest, not installation success.
• The installer itself does not send a success event or upload local knowledge.
• Knowledge, query, document, block, Space, account, and feedback values are excluded from those public diagnostics.
• User application and internal operations hosts do not load GA4.
• Product measurement such as retrieved, exposed, selected, used, and useful belongs to the applicable Space and is not advertising analytics.

Email

We use authenticated transactional email for invitations, verification, sign-in, and security notices. Delivery providers process sender, recipient, message, and delivery status. Bounce and complaint suppression is retained to protect recipients and sender reputation. We do not use transactional mail for advertising without a separate lawful basis and choice.

Retention, security, and choices

Retention follows the selected product mode and Space policy. You can decline public diagnostics, disconnect cloud synchronization, leave an organization, and permanently delete your hosted account from Account settings. Account deletion removes your Personal Space, provider identity, account information, invitations accepted by you, and every ObsDog device credential. If you are the last owner of a shared organization, you must assign another owner first. Organization-owned knowledge remains with the organization after your membership and identifiable attribution are removed; a sole-member organization and its Spaces are deleted with the account. Limited records may remain only where legally required, and those requirements require separate legal review before general availability.
